The Ministry of Interior is the competent Ministry for the formulation of the policy of the social integration of migrants in the Cypriot society. In this context, it prepares relevant Action Plans every three years, monitors the implementation of the Action Plan and all relevant integration actions, evaluates the results of the integration policy of migrants and refugees. The Ministry of Interior presides the Advisory Committee on the integration of migrants, in accordance with Resolution 72.672 of the Council of Ministers. Finally, it represents the Republic of Cyprus in the EU and to all European and international institutions and organizations on migration issues.

Advisory Commitee on the Integration of Migrants
The Council of Ministers with no. 65.242 Decision of 28 March 2007 decided to approve the establishment of a Special Committee of Experts, chaired by the Ministry of Interior and composed of representatives of the relevant Departments and Services of the Ministries of Interior, Labor and Social Security, Education and Culture and Health policy framework, as well as a set of practical measures, which will be included in an action plan for the integration of legal migrants in Cypriot society.
The Council of Ministers with no. 72.672 Decision of 10 October 2011 decided to approve the establishment of the “Advisory Committee on the Integration of Migrants” consisting of representatives of the Ministries of Interior (which chairs the Committee), Labor and Social Security, Education and Culture, Health, the Office of the Commissioner of Administration, of the Trade Unions PEO, SEK and DEOK, of OEB, of KEVE, of the Associations of Municipalities and Communities, as well as representatives of up to three Non-Governmental Organizations, dealing with issues related to immigration and which will monitoring the implementation of the National Action Plan on the integration of Migrants legally residing in Cyprus 2010-2012 and will address broader policy issues and measures for the integration of third country nationals into Cypriot society.
Main responsibilities of the committee:
a) supervises the study and elaboration of the National Action Plan on the Integration of Migrants
b) monitors the implementation of the National Action Plan for the Integration of Migrants
c) participates in the Evaluation of the general policy for the integration of migrants
c) addresses broader issues, related to the policy and measures for the integration of third country citizens in the Cypriot society, in the framework of the National Action Plan for the Integration of Immigrants and not only.
